Where is Pacific Bay Christian School located?

Our two campuses are located in the Coastside community of Pacifica, easily accessible from San Francisco and the Peninsula.

How do I apply?

Pacific Bay Christian School gives careful consideration to every application. The admissions process begins online with the completion of the inquiry form.

A member of the Admissions office staff will contact you once the inquiry has been received.

Kindergarten applicants are encouraged to attend one of our scheduled visit days.

Please contact our Director of Admissions for more information. Upon completion of an application, a readiness assessment will be scheduled. These assessments generally occur in late winter.

Students applying for Grades 1 – 6 complete an application online. Once this application is received, a campus visit, a personal interview, and an academic assessment will be scheduled. We encourage applicants to complete this process by early February. However, in grades where there are open seats, Pac Bay will continue to consider applications.

Middle School candidates for grades 7 – 8 and High School candidates for grades 9 - 12 must also take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). You may schedule the ISEE here. A personal interview with the Admissions Committee is scheduled once the completed application has been received.

What is the application deadline?

Applications for Grades K – 12 are due February 15th.

Late applications at all grade levels will be considered based on available seats in that class.

What are the opportunities for campus visits?

You may schedule a campus tour or shadow day for almost any school day. The Admissions Office will do its best to accommodate you.

Can I meet current students?

PacBay Student Ambassadors make connections with all prospective students. They give school tours and host students on visit days. The Student Ambassadors can answer any questions applicants may have about the Pac Bay experience.

What is the Admissions Interview Like?

The Admissions Interview is an informal conversation with members of the Admissions Committee that provides candidates and parents the opportunity to get to know Pacific Bay Christian School as we get to know the applicant. Interviews are scheduled once the application is complete and all required documentation has been received.

How are admission decisions made?

Early in March the Admissions Committee prayerfully and carefully evaluates every application. Many factors are taken into consideration as admissions decisions are made. Families are notified of admissions decisions by the second Monday in March. For those candidates who apply after the winter deadlines, applications for placement are considered based on available space. Notification is made within a week following the student interview.

Do You Consider Applications from Students with Learning Plans?

Pacific Bay Christian School is committed to providing the best educational opportunity for all students. Pac Bay has limited resources for support and assistance to students who require additional services. Candidates must complete a questionnaire detailing current accommodations and services. In some cases, additional information will be required before a decision can be made.

Is financial aid available?

Yes, financial aid is distributed based on need. Families must complete the FAST application to be considered for financial aid. Copies of your state and federal income tax returns are required. The financial aid committee meets at least once a year to review applications and award aid. A new financial aid application is required annually.

If we are divorced or separated, is financial information from both parents required?

Yes. Both parents must submit financial aid forms and tax information.

I do not do my taxes until close to the April 15 deadline. How will this affect my financial aid award?

Applications for financial aid are due March 1st. You will need to complete your taxes early enough to meet the tax submission deadline in order to be considered for financial aid. For those families who apply late financial aid will be awarded only if funds are still available.

Will applying for financial aid influence the admissions decision?

No. Decisions regarding admissions and financial aid are made at different times by different committees.

What is the dress code at Pacific Bay Christian School?

The PacBay uniform and dress code is designed to build a spirit of community through a shared identity. Students wear their uniforms from their arrival on campus until their departure, and during all school activities, both on campus and off, unless otherwise noted.

What are the hours of the school day?


Grades 1 – 5

Grades 6 – 8

Grades 9 – 12

8:15 am – 2:00 pm

8:15 am – 3:00 pm*

7:55 am – 3:30 pm*

*Wednesday dismissal for Grades 1 – 5 is 2:15pm

*Wednesday dismissal for Grades 6 – 8 is 2:40pm

Before School Supervision of K-5 students is available through Extended Care on the Seville campus beginning at 7:30 am. After school Extended Care begins at the end of the academic day and ends promptly at 5:30pm. There are additional fees for before and after school care.

Middle and high school students should arrive on campus no earlier than 7:35 am.

Homework Club and Extended Care are available to middle school students for a fee until 5:30 pm.

What are Teacher/Student Ratios at PacBay?

The Teacher/Student ratio for elementary and middle school classes is 1:9. In the high school the ratio is 1:12.

What Sports are Offered?

All students beginning in Kindergarten participate in physical education.

Interscholastic competition begins in middle school where boys can play flag football, basketball, and soccer and girls compete in volleyball, soccer and basketball.

The high school sports are

Boys: soccer, cross country, basketball, baseball

Girls: volleyball, cross country, basketball, softball, and cheer

Does Pac Bay have an arts program?

Students in all divisions have several opportunities to participate in both visual and performing arts. Students in the elementary school take a music class which includes choral performance and instruments, including ukulele.

Students in middle school may participate in choir and a middle school worship band that performs at the weekly chapel.

There are several performing and visual arts opportunities in the high school including drama, choir, and art electives.

Do all students participate in community service?

PacBay has a commitment to community service and is continually increasing opportunities. From the elementary school Kiddovators program through high school service fairs and service days, students are given frequent opportunities to serve in the Bay Area. In addition, high school students must complete community service hours each year.

Where do Pac Bay graduates go to college?

PacBay students are accepted to the University of California campuses and many other colleges and universities including Princeton, Boston College, Biola University and Westmont College. A complete list of the colleges and universities where recent graduates have been accepted is available from the Admissions Office.

Does Pac Bay accept international students?

PacBay will accept international students at every grade level. For students who are not available for in-person interviews, SKYPE interviews are conducted.

Are immunizations required?

Under the law known as Senate Bill 277, beginning January 1, 2016, exemptions based on personal beliefs will no longer be an option for the vaccines required by public and private schools, including Pacific Bay Christian School.
